Aside from Horse Racing, What do you like to do for fun? Hobbies?
Quote from Lonnie on October 28, 2025, 7:07 PMI like to go to vineyards, museums, zoos, and aquariums. I like to read, take day trips, go to live concerts, happy hours, and I blog (ask me about them!). My favorite teams are the Yankees, New York Giants, New York Rangers, and the Knicks.
I keep tropical fish. I have a few freshwater tanks and one saltwater tank. Unfortunately, the maintenance office told me I need to get rid of them. I've gotten rid of some 😉
Oh, and I own racehorses too 🙂 Sorry, that was off topic. LOL
What about you?

Quote from Bgtolex25 on October 29, 2025, 8:58 AMCamping, kayaking, hiking, touring distilleries and historical sites. A little golf along with starting disc golf and pickleball with my wife.
upgrading our newly purchased 27 year old home
With coffee in hand in the morning and bourbon in the late afternoon, sitting on the front porch and watching my neighbors drive to and from a place that they call “work”. Vaguely remember that concept.
Favorite teams are Ohio State football and whoever is playing against University of Michigan. Hey Ed.
Doing absolutely nothing if the notion strikes on any particular day, which then leads somewhere back to harness racing.

Quote from Lonnie on October 29, 2025, 9:33 AMCareful with Pickleball! Though you're in much better shape than I am, the first time I played pickleball didn't end well. I thought I was playing tennis (which I haven't done in many dog years), and I learned the hard way that that damn pickleball ball doesn't bounce. I ended up in the ER. Good times. NOT!

Nice! The west coast of Florida is my favorite. I used to go to Sarasota often when my Grandmother lived there. My mother is still there, I think.
Do you do the New York Times crossword puzzles?

Older guy so I like puzzles to keep fairly sharp. No more crosswords. Wordle, Nerdle, NY Times spelling bee things like that. I walk a lot, not as much in the summer ( humidity sucks), love walking in the winter hearing and feeling the snow crunch under my fat feet. Sports, hockey is my favorite. I read a lot, mostly fiction. For fun I'll occasionally answer a suspected spam call and put them thru hell. I like golf, used to play a fair amount of poker but too old now can't focus that long. Used to play chess. Unlike my friend Norm I don't care about the dastardly buckeyes but one day a year. This year I think my team is in trouble. Used to go to a lot of concerts but they've priced me out. I've seen Springsteen 27 times and now at nearly 80 years old he wants 300.00 to see him. Pass. I've seen the movie twice though. 🙂

Quote from Bearcookie56 on November 2, 2025, 12:45 PM@lonnie, unfortunately, I don’t have access to the New York Times crossword, but I've done it in the past , I do the Saturday one that comes in the Toronto Star, it’s quite challenging, although not in the class of the Times! BTW, thank you to the L.A Dodgers for saving most of Canada from the obnoxiously Blow Jays fans , we would have had to endure years worth of their trash talk!

Quote from Purple Aura on November 2, 2025, 4:52 PMA pinch runner who didn't get the proper lead off third base on a bobbled force play at the plate will haunt them. There's always the Leafs :). Not to mention sac bunting and wasting outs in your last at bat. Great Series I'm glad the pitcher won the MVP instead of Ohtani. Well deserved.

In my mind, Game 7 was the greatest baseball game I have ever seen (and I'm a Yankees fan, and we have had a lot of great games, to say the least 😁).
