This is Gorgeous Package's (1) race yesterday. I've watched this clip a few times and I'll never understand why the track vet didn't call the #2 horse back to the paddock to be checked before allowing her to race after hitting the gate the way she did then behaving the way she was as she went down the track.

That's crazy!  đŸ€Ș

I thought the 2 might have broke her head pole or overcheck.  Assumed that it was corrected, as we didn’t have a view for most of the aftermath.

You have to know the fair tracks, as they vary tremendously in layouts.  The car couldn’t even pick up the field until the top of the stretch due to the tight turns.  It looked like Stahl and Herschberger were caught lagging and felt that they had to sprint to catch the car, when reality the car may have been going slower than anticipated due to short acceleration ability.  Night and day what I saw at Urbana, which was a parimutual quality track.

Hope AMac doesn’t use it as another excuse not to race at the fairs.  Similar crappy track last year at Marion and many of the Michigan tracks.  There are plenty of decent ones in Ohio.  Just go to the ones where good trainers keep their stables.  They wouldn’t train at those venues unless the tracks are decent.

If there were any repairs made I don't know when it was done, there wasn't any delay. I don't think Herschberger even got off and looked at the horse.

They never should have been using Northfiled's car, the wings are just too wide for that rack. If you watch the number one horses were starting from the three position on the gate with the one and two positions hanging over the infield. Just an accident waiting to happen.

100% agree. Sadly this was Cuyahoga County with a population of over 1.2 million people and they are being outdone by counties of 50-60 thousand people.

Just a note, Gorgeous Package was supposed to be right back in at Croton on Saturday but I see that didn't happen.

Fair point.  My main focus is on the track condition.   Not where I would choose to race a 1:51 quality 3 year old.  If you are ok walking around 2:08-2:10 it is a fine venue.
