hi I am Mike Sikora

Quote from Sikoram on September 1, 2024, 3:39 PMOwned a few pieces with the Stable.ca. Former Thoroughbred owner and breeder in the 80s and 90s racing at Hastings Park and Bay Meadows. I live in Victoria British Columbia and if I walk 400 yards I can see Port Angeles Washington across 20 miles of water. Our standardbred track (Sandown Park) is long gone but thanks to the internet I watch on line regularly.
My latest horse interest is in Ontario and is racing at Three Rivers in Quebec in a Sires Stakes Series. I can't access this track on line so I wait for the results. Frustrating to be sure.
My racing highlight was at Cloverdale Raceway where I watched Cam Fella go by the field like they were standing still. I also was on the police mounted patrol back in the day. I'm retired and living well.

Hey, Mike, welcome.
You live in a beautiful part of the country I was thinking of moving to Issaquah , WA.
I just spoke to https://www.hpibet.com/, about watching (and wagering if you so choose) Hippodrome 3R amongst other tracks. They say they carry their live video feed, and there is no wagering requirements to start an account and watch races. It's a wagering platform only available to Canadians. Here is their phone number too if you want to double check. 1-888-675-8886 (toll free) or (416) 675-8886 I hope the info is correct.
Good luck buddy! 🙂

Quote from Lonnie on September 1, 2024, 4:44 PMWelcome Mike! I'm glad you found your way here. I see that @senator-blutarsky hopefully linked you up so that you can watch your horse race! If that doesn't pan out, you can get a subscription to RTN (Racetrack Television Network, they don't offering wagering though) to stream the races live. This link will take you there: https://hippodrome3r.ca/en/races/ongoing-season/

Quote from Sikoram on September 2, 2024, 12:29 AMThanks for the help folks. I am on HPI bet and have had an account there since it was a dial up. I think there is an issue with British Columbia and Quebec. I will sus it out a bit more. If I can bet the Melbourne Cup I sure should be able to get Three Rivers.

Quote from Sikoram on September 2, 2024, 2:30 PMJust as I suspected, Quebec and British Columbia don't mesh. You cannot bet Quebec tracks with a BC HPI Bet account. I actually talked to someone at HPI Bet. It took a lot of searching and waiting on the phone. There is no workaround. Thankfully, I saved a lot of money with that rule. Bit of a pain in the ass. I'm going to have to get an Ohio Bred. Cleveland Masha is like the red headed step daughter at the Stable.ca

Quote from Senator Blutarsky on September 2, 2024, 3:39 PMHave you spoken with 3R, can they make a live video feed available, like youtube so you can see your babies run? There are some tracks where horses I follow in tough jurisdictions (Kawartha in Ontario, Red Shores in PEI) and while I can bet them there is no live feed but they do stream on youtube or their own website.
Multi-jurisdictional issues regarding ADW's tracks, even in your case Providences may sound unusual but those of us navigate in this terrain face same issues here in the states. They want to make sure if they are funding the money and benefits stay in the Providence I imagine. But live video, c'mon that's taking it too far.
There are very few tracks that can survive with out the blessing / legislation of their government, subsidy like a new business introduction / compact / even forced upon a casino. None of them in the US are doing it for being nostalgic, nor for the gamblers, but just to keep the jobs and all related industries going until their lobby gets squashed by the casino lobby and the government bends. Real estate developers clean up the rest.

Quote from Sikoram on September 2, 2024, 9:41 PMI have to wait until Thursday when the entries close. I may be able to watch a replay which would be fine. At 75 years old, I work on a golf course on Sundays from 1 pm until dark with little cell service so a replay will have to do. RTN may be my best bet. The golf course job pays for the horse btw.
Funny though, I can watch Busan Korea, Australia, South Africa, Tokyo or Sweden but not Quebec. WTF?

Quote from Sikoram on September 5, 2024, 3:30 PMWell ffs. Cleveland Masha did not have enough points to qualify for the final and the 2 year old fillies had an also eligible so she doesn't get in. I'm guessing here unless she went down. I'll wait until Sunday and hopefully we have a report. That filly is still the red headed stepdaughter.
