After racing in Sweden (3 races, last one tonight) in the amateur races, the amateurs move over to The Netherlands for a race at Victoria Park Wolvega.
Among the drivers is Northfield's Joey Kramp, who has also worked with TheStable.ca. In Race 4 he drives the #9 horse Navarone Meadow. Other American drivers are Jeff Schaefer and Jamie Marra.

I thought Joey was driving in an Amateur race on Elitloppet day. And I was confused as to why I didn't see his name on the entries. So, I asked him about it.
I also didn't know that Joey was an amateur driver. Or, does "amateur" mean something different in Europe?

Yes he drove on Elitloppet day to make a break after sitting the whole race 3 wide. He then finished 3rd in Halmstad on Monday. Today at Jägersro he has another start in race 1 post 5.
I don't think an amateur means something else in Europe. Its a non-professional drivers.

Sadly for Joey this race resulted in a break after being locked in for most of the race on the rail. Highest placed American was Jamie Marra with a 7th place. Jeff Schaeffer's horse was scratched but the Dutch driver on the 10 horse gave up his drive so his overseas travel wouldn't be for nothing. Sadly this resulted in a break at the gate for Jeff.
