Next Generation Day is Here!!

Page 1 of 3Next

All the waiting comes down to this (at least for now).  Three Next Generation races!  Three TheStable.ca horses entered.  Good luck to all!!

What a busy day of racing this will be.  There is a total of 14 TheStable.ca entries today across four tracks in the United States and two in Canada.  Hopefully everyone has one or more horses racing today.

I have three:  Mynameswainey (TSS) and Tenacious Hanover at The Meadows.  And, Tomboy Strong in the Next Generation.  First one of the three.  I hope to get TheStable.ca off to a great start!

Good luck to everyone!  Let's bring home lots of bacon!!  🙏🙏

Please share your comments throughout the day.

Just for fun, I'm going to keep track of TheStable.ca vs. the Burke Brigade in all the races we have in common.

One thing about the Next Generation, Burke can't load up with two or three horses.

I'm ready!!! I hope Tomboy is. Gambling wise anything lower than her 7-2 ml odds I'd consider no value. anything over those odds fire at will!!! Lonnie I hope you realize by staying home if The Stable does well today we may have to take up a collection to keep you NY boys home 🙂 ( please know I'm kidding).

After watching Super Mind Uncle Danny must be one helluva trotter.

I'll help fund that collection box!

I gotta say, there's no one as confident and cocky as ME today!  I get to scream and cheer for the first three Stable horses at Scioto stress free.  Then sit back, watch Highest Honors trail the field and rally for fifth?  fourth?  NO expectations!

Tip of the cap to Amy.  She loves her trotters, pacers not so much.  I/we've heard her say multiple times how tough the pacing side is.  Tomboy and Danny both look to be in competitive fields.  Time wise at least.  Burke has a two year old in with HH that has  a mark of 52.2!  That's 24 lengths better than my boy.

My best bet of the day - the two year colt and gelding pace goes sub 52!

Just have to add - I remember when a race went under two minutes at Freehold.  It made it into the newspaper the next day !!!!!!!!!!

Remember Nick Clegg stole 2nd place money in last year’s 2 year old pace.  It is such a unique race where an underdog who has the right horse ready to roll early in the season has a hope.  Here is to Honors scooting thru the passing lane to get a chunk of the $$$.  Tomboy and Danny
don’t break Rule #1 and they will be in the mix for a happy winner$ photo.

By the way, Burke just bought that 2 year old pacer that went in 52.2  qualifier off of a Michigan based trainer AFTER the qualifier.

Sweet Lake was very impressive in winning the first race, a TSS, at The Meadows.  Way to get TheStable.ca off to a great start.

Up next:  Mynameswainey, also in a TSS.

He bought a couple off of Altmeyer/Wilder.  They all made their first or second starts this week at The Meadows.  Probably over pays, endless supply of cash.  Question or thought .... where would the sport be without him?  Would it collapse since his horses make so many starts at so many tracks?  Or would it better, would other stables have a larger foot print?  My "issue" is his impact on your average horseman.  There's several large stables, but they focus on stakes caliber horses.  Burke dominants the overnights.  I personally think he's bad for the sport, but again, would others pick up the pieces.  Aaaaand, think of the gambler.  Along with those wins are a bunch of overwhelming favorites.  Can't bet on them, can't bet against them. Affects the handle.

Wainey was good.  I am happy with the outcome.
