One big difference between Anthony MacDonald and Bob Baffert

Quote from factlaw on February 5, 2025, 11:20 AMIt’s funny, on YouTube next to Anthony’s full barn 47 minute recap video today is a “in-depth update” video of Bob Baffert discussing his Kentucky Derby hopefuls. And it is 7 minute 37 seconds long! Hah! So Anthony puts Mr. Baffert to shame, go Anthony!

Quote from Bgtolex25 on February 5, 2025, 9:48 PMI found AMac’s report on yesterday’s training very informative. Who knows which ones will come forward. Most don’t have Baffert’s deep pocket owners willing to buy a bunch of highly priced babies hoping that one or two hit it big.
Keep in mind that Aunt Lily, Gorgeous Package, and Arrowhead Hanover were not on the “honor roll” at this juncture last year. AMac trying his best to educate us on this reality.

Quote from SC Upstate on February 6, 2025, 6:38 AMI really liked the tone of that video also. Maybe cause it echo'd my personal feelings on my three. Don't Ask Again, Highest Honors and Royal Flush Deo. Just do your work, stay healthy, slow and steady wins the race. I'll be more than happy to get B grades and stay off the top ten lists the next few months. He also talks a lot about expectations in several videos. Mine are minimal in February. I'm patient if nothing else.

You have to be impressed with Highest Honors after his brain surgery, err…castration. Seems all business now. He has such a deep pedigree of not just winners, but high volume winners. Speaks well to family’s conformation traits. In the way too early projections category, and just for fun on a cold winter day, he is my prediction for TheStable’s 2 year old performer of the year.

Quote from SC Upstate on February 6, 2025, 10:53 AMPerformer of the year! That's a High(est) Honor(s)! He is a perfect example of progress. Went from class clown to "sneaky good". They're all lottery tickets. It's easy to make a case for all them in February. Highest Honors - first crop of Summa Cum Laude. Don't Ask Again - first crop of Captain Corey. Royal Flush Deo - second foal (first now two) of a dam that made almost a half million. Point is, all three come with an extra question mark. If they didn't have that question mark, they'd all be in Ake or Takters barn. What's even crazier is in eight or nine months everyone will want a Captain Corey or Summa Cum Laude or they'll sell on day five or in the scratch and dent sale. It is great that we get the training video's and updates. Till the next one .....
