It's been a wild and tumultuous ride this last week. Did anyone see the roof being blown off the Tampa Bay Rays stadium while it was used to house emergency responders and others? I was so in the know that when I first saw the pics and video it was before it was even news worthy. Some great Youtubers during Hurricane Milton that put out incredible coverage, they had cameras up and different coastal points on the west coast of Florida, had live coverage of their partners who were storm chasers, and some of those people risking their life and property to get that live footage that streamed.
Here in south east Florida we didn't get significant winds, nor rain, however we got tornadoes, yup, nuts. Some serious damage, but again I, people in this general area ie Pompano Beach were very fortunate.
I prepared as best I could personally and for the development I help manage, and we did good. No power outages, damage to report either. Just stress and sleepless nights, and so many things that got cancelled needing to be rescheduled.
My focus while being very lucky not having to absorb any of the storm's impact was to keep to my responsibilities. My friend who I help as I mentioned just took a really bad fall and broke bones in her face just prior to the storm, so I've been taking her to different docs and specialists. I've also been helping friends, biz associates who were impacted by Milton remotely as they didn't have power and limited use of technology. Whether get them info, make a purchase or help them out in ways that would be beneficial where they struggled.
I'm still swamped with all that, however by the end of this week things will predictably be back to normal and I can get back here communicating, more lol handicapping and wagering threads. There are always races!
