Breaks as the gate opens!

First horse I have a share in that has raced in three months.

WOW!  I'll start to go through withdrawal symptoms if we don't have a horse race in three days.  I can't imagine having to wait three months!  All those monthly invoices must be eating you up.

Hang in there, Al!

All the three year old horses ended up being sold. I did not replenish. Never saw a good price. I should have put in some offers.  Hopefully the current crop performs better than last year. I need to work on diversifying. 10 total , 2 - 2 year olds (Spring Ice just had a big vet bill, I missed that news.) 8 - 3 year olds

I also have 8-3 year olds and it's been beyond frustrating, after 15 months of bills one still hasn't made his first start, two others just have one start each. I don't want to sound like "that Guy" because it was my choice to buy the horses but everything seems to get drug out when it comes to getting the horses to the track.

I've made it pretty well known that I have horses elsewhere so I do have other options and I won't go through another winter with only four horses out of 17 racing. I'm not going to hold my breath but with some luck maybe a few of the 3 year olds will be racing come February.

Perfect Thought also had a big vet bill that I wasn't aware was coming (maybe I missed it too).,

I have three three-year-olds who haven't made a start yet:

  • AC DC
  • Capistrano Nights
  • Sterling Hanover

Hopefully, they will get to the races in the next few weeks.

I am with you on Capistrano. None of my other 3 year olds did much in State stakes, so I hope not held out until then.

Scioto has Ohio Super Night listed as 9/12 so two weeks earlier than last year. I assume that will move up the rest of the schedule.

I wonder if Scioto did that to avoid any conflict with the Breeder's Crown.

Last regular race night is 9/19. Then racing for the two weekends 10/16-10/17 and 10/23-10/24 for Breeders Crown. I assume Dayton will be racing in between. I would have assumed a different schedule for this year.

Work just instituted an additional day per week in the office. Messes up my planned visits to the tracks in Sep/Oct. Dang work interfering with the race tracks!

@maywoodal, clearly, it's time to change jobs.  That is totally unacceptable.  I'd file a grievance too!  😉
