Scioto lack of communication

Cancelled after a wreck and then heavy rains after 10th last night.  Zero communication from track.  Heared from a driver in the race that everyone ok.

Scioto badly needs to get communication improved.  A brief public statement would have been sufficient.

Because I am getting old and cranky, someone will be hearing from me today.

You go, @bgtolex25!

Old and cranky. Could there be a better name for a Stable horse? Smirk.

Since Scioto does their best to make it difficult to speak to a live person in management, I reached out to Frank Frass, Executive Director for Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association.  He was a willing listener and shared OHHA’s more proactive approach to communication.  He stated that he would relay my concerns to management at Scioto and volunteered that OHHA has expressed similar concerns to Scioto in the past.

Thank you!

Watching Scioto tonight on RTN and surprised to see announcer, Barry Vickers, and Jenna Otten on camera in their in-between race betting analysis.  Previously, they would just do voice overs, which seemed like another missed opportunity to better connect with the public.  Coincidence?  Don’t know, just glad to see a better effort.  And I love the paddock camera.

@bgtolex25

I mentioned this in another post but if you get a chance check out Century Downs (Harness), they do a really nice job and literally no drag time.

@pcmark15 Seems I was premature in my kudos.  In the couple of hours of my watching, there was only one video presentation.  And it dawned on me after your post why.  There was an extended drag at that time due to a very large carryover in the Pick 5.  So Scioto knew it would be a good thing to try to keep the “masses” entertained in that prolonged drag, but they don’t use the same logic during their usual slightly less prolonged drags.
