Solidarity breaks his maiden!

Royally bred Solidarity broke his maiden with a fast sprint down the lane on March 14th at Woodbine Mohawk Park. James Macdonald let Solidarity flow easily off the gate to slot in 6th. After an easy half mile in 57.1 the 4 Dead Mans Chain moved two wide going into the last turn. James and Solidarity kept their nose on the helmet and followed closely. As the favourite P L Taco let the field into the final stretch, the outside lane started to mount a challenge. James fanned 4 wide with Solidarity and with a 1/8th left to go, they kicked into gear to clear the field to win by 2 lengths in 1:54.0.

For Solidarity it was his first win in his 5th start. Expectations are high among some owners for the N/W 2 next week.

A strong maternal family on the pacing side.   Our Hoosier friends are well acquainted with the stalwart stallions, Rockin Image and Tellitlikeitis.  Heston Blue Chip also hails from this line.  Farther back one will find Camluck plus many fantastic race fillies and mares.  Showing my age here, but with fondness.  The 5th dam, Just Our Luck, was owned by the long defunct, Hill Farms of Ohio where I spent too much of my time during my college years in the 80’s.

Solidarity goes back to back tonight with a win in 1:55.0 at Woodbine Mohawk Park!

Another race where he comes flying from behind.

And that is three in a row!

He gave us a little scare when he dropped the bit in the stretch but he picked it back up and finished strong!
