No.  I only did it for a year after leaving school.  Glad I did it though.  It would be a bucket list thing if I hadn't.  Just didn't see a future in it at the time.  Hands on with horses made it very enjoyable.

I think the hands on part is what kept the passion alive for me.  30+ years later, I am stoked to be back involved, albeit in a limited fashion.

Did we meet at the Open House on June 2, 2024?  My friend, @factlaw, and I are contemplating a doubleheader starting this coming Wednesday.  The plan is to drive Wednesday afternoon from New York to Northfield Park to root for Luvin Affection.  And Thursday morning, "on the way home", make a slight detour to The Meadows to root for Serious Dragon in the 9th race.  He drew the 8, so we are hoping he will be great (that's the extent of my poetic skills).

I haven't heard anything in a long time but are the plans to replace Northville completely dead now? It's a shame there used to be 5 racetracks between Southeast Michigan, Windsor and Northwest Ohio and they're all gone now.

I spent 9 months with my looney tunes and I shot out of there like a bat out of hell and never looked back.  Too many physical resemblances on the maternal and paternal for me to think I was adopted, alien, or otherwise.
