2026 Gold Cup & Saucer

Timeisonmyside:  Will he or won't he be going to Prince Edward Island to compete in the Gold Cup & Saucer?

In today's video, Anthony sounds kind of wishy-washy, but concludes that...

In the video, the speaker discusses the horse named TimeIsOnMySide. During the segment (16:31 - 17:05), he mentions that many people have asked if he plans to bring the horse to Old Home Week in Prince Edward Island. While he wasn't sure initially, he concludes that he likely will bring the horse this year, as it has previously performed well in high-level racing.

Timer is entered Saturday in the second race of Adios Day at The Meadows.  He's in a stiff group.  Will this race determine whether he goes or stays?

We already have hotel reservations (fully refundable).  Booked three rooms.  Scratched down to two, as Carmelo said he won't go.  Though I still have the reservation for three rooms.  Need a room?  I have one to spare.

If he doesn't go, we don't go.

If we go, it's still to be determined how we will get there.  Airfare is very expensive.  Driving is very far.  Probably a two-day trip each way.

I don't think he should go. I'd love to race a horse in the Gold Cup & Saucer again. But in his current form with the other horses likely to go there, I don't see him do well.

I'm in your camp.  Plus, I'm not sure I can afford the trip 🙁

Yeah it is a rough trip for me to go there as well. I would really want to since I'll have Woodmere Rock It racing during Old Home Week too. But it's like 22 hours of travel and around $1200 for me to just get there and back.

I am going to have to take the other side of the argument.  Time is good enough, especially if he is given breaks (and he is).  The top tiered older pacers ( and the 2nd tier for that matter) don’t go to PEI.  I wished that they would.  Just as I wished the best 3 year old pacers always go to Delaware, Ohio in September.

The Gold Cup and Saucer and the Little Brown Jug  are the best environments that the sport in North America offer, with apologies to the 1/2 dozen events that give a good effort.
