Prior to DuQuoin, the races were held at Good Time Park in Goshen, NY.

That's when men were men, and horses were horses!  No air conditioning, and Heat racing.  You had to win two heats to be declared champion.  Steve Lobell took four heats back in 1976.  The write-up was even in the New York Times!
