I disagree with putting the top eight earners in the Final.  I'm fine with the two heats.  But coordination with other jurisdictions is imperative.  

This year's field, and the entire card, has no panache.  (Sorry, I've been looking for a way to use "panache" in a sentence all week.

Part of the problem this year is the form of some of the hopefuls.  Beau Jangles is the obvious disappointment, so I don’t blame Dr. Moore for not entering him.  The Brandon Blvd absence grinds my gears, but I don’t really blame the connections.  TheJug used to be a measuring stick for future stallion duty.  That is no longer valid.  See Somebeachsomewhere, Captaintreacherous, Sweet Lou , Confederate, etc.

And it may be just one of those years, because there are no strong local horses either.  No local trainers taking a swing, because they don’t have a strong 3 year old pacer.

My vote is to move more money from 2 year old races to 3 year old and older races.   We would have a better product and less washed up horses.  And get rid of the 2nd heat however you do it.

Thank you, @bgtolex25.  I didn't see that he was in the Ohio Breeders' Championships today.  

The Kentucky Futurity will have eliminations the week before the final.
