I saw it live. I will be at The Meadows tomorrow. Wish I could stay at Northfield to watch Freedom Hill, but going to visit Harpers Ferry on Thursday and Charles Town Race Track at night.

Whelp, I would have to say that wasn't Anthony's best drive on Freedom Hill.  Fast first quarter, and... he sat in the three hole.

I liked the drive. Didn't bring her first over in a purse not worthy of being first over. I also liked the fight she showed in the lane. Ears pricked and wanted out. Granted if you bet win money on her the drive sucked. Going forward, I liked it a lot.

I like your perspective.  Along those lines, do you consciously separate your ownership perspective from your gambling perspective prior to each of your races?

I definitely see your point about these prep 3 year old races.  Going against aged horses can be a challenge and the youngsters need to be protected.  Bigger races to come.

Guilty. I need value to gamble. When you're entered in as owner you hope for the best. Last night I think sitting in and waiting for another day was best. But I understand if you bet her last night you're pissed the way she was driven.

I didn't bet her last night.

In today's video, he said that she was flat.  To me, it looked like she had a lot of trot with nowhere to go.  Anthony said a lane opened.  He has a better perspective than I do, of course.

Perhaps I'm selfish and I am not seeing the big picture.  But, the way I see it is that you beat up on these horses, build her confidence, and then send her against the big girls in a few weeks, ready to wreak havoc on them.
