Freehold Raceway to Cease All Operations on December 28, 2024

Lots of memories at Freehold Raceway back in the 1980's. Lately? Not so much. 

And without a casino to support purses, the end was inevitable.

Freehold Raceway was a gateway for a couple of Hall of Famers, also helped the average to very good driver to super drivers make a much better living by pulling double duty.

Catello Manzi, aka Cat, Catman, who is around 74 now used drive at Freehold during the day and The Meadowlands at night.  Career of 14,812 wins.

Herve Filion also drove at Yonkers at night, Freehold during the day.  Career of 15,183 wins.

Those 2 legends retired about 2 years apart from each other, they drove horses for about a 100 years combined.

They also did some very bad stuff too during their careers.  It's a crazy game, but here we are regardless!  🙂
