HUGE Week Ahead

PreviousPage 3 of 5Next

I shouldn't be disappointed.  But I am a little.  I thought Freedom Hill was home free.  She needs longer eyelashes.

Can we go by Roger's call? He gave her the win. Was 1/5 second faster than Hackett elim. ( I know not supposed to  look at times)

And I was so excited to see Ed (Purple Aura) in the winner’s circle.

As for the time, I think the track is firming up as the night goes on.  Regardless, Freedom was good.  A 3 year old filly got nipped at the wire by a good 4 year old stallion.  No shame there.  Great week for all the connections.

Yes!  Roger is God.  His call should stand!  😊

I didn't think to check the time of the Hackett.  I wish she were entered for sure.  I thought that before tonight's race.

All of our big names came through in a very big way!

Nice jiggety jog by Memento Mori!

Anthony probably isn't that still even when he sleeps!

He always has that lean to the left while in the sulky.

Roger WAS the best. Now he expects to be treated like a god and treat he treats people like they're beneath him. My fandom went out the window years ago.

Fair point about losing to an older horse. Spot on point about the track firming up. I was disappointed though. She opened up after backing down the second quarter. BUT the purse difference between Miami and Northfield is crazy. The Miami purse was 16k. Second in Miami is 4k earned for the night. The Northfield purse was 9600 winning is 4800. Hope she stays in Miami.

The money attracts the better horses and drivers.  They will shift from Miami Valley to Scioto soon.

Brian Brown said in an interview that the overnight racing in Ohio is getting very difficult, which is a testament to the purse structure.  I hope that the industry doesn’t waste the opportunity to increase involvement while the economics are favorable.  You can’t say that AMac isn’t trying, and he is always encouraging others to start their own version of fractional ownership.

Hoosier in Indiana and the Minnesota track have some sort of program for residents.  Tracks have to try their best to make their venues accommodating for the various types of fans and bettors as well.  It will never be like the golden days, because there are so many competing options for the entertainment dollar.  But we have to carve out a few more % points for the industry that we love.
