Monte Vista for Bgtolex25

PreviousPage 2 of 4Next

@pcmark15     Thx.We are currently in Virginia and expect to be home Monday night.  I will be watching the weather closely to see if I make the drive to Paulding the next day only to be rained / thunderstormed out.  Wednesday is the rain date, and it looks marginally better at this point.

Good luck with Perfect Thought tonight.  My WiFi is strong at the camper, so I should be able to watch her.

Weather looks ok(?) for Paulding tonight.  I think that we will take the 5 hour drive, maybe go up thru farm country of Indiana.  My wife will be “thrilled” with the endless flat terrain.

I haven't been in that area in a long time but from what I remember Paulding is pretty much out in the middle of no man's land.

We have “landed” at our night layover in Van Wert, just south of Paulding by 30 minutes.  Middle of nowhere indeed.  Love it.

2 year olds in June at a bull ring track.  Zero expectations, but I obviously want to see him do well.đŸ€ž

Good Luck !!!

It looks like the weather is going to hold up other than a possible passing shower.

Well
that was an awful outcome.  Time will tell if that is indicative of the future or not.

What happened?

Quick summary:

Got away good and pocket trip but just ran out of steam by the 5/8ths.

Winning mile went in 2:02 and change with 58 and change back half, although the winner came first over from 4th or 5th and threw down a 57 and change back half.

With his lazy training, he hasn’t earned the right to a quick excuse.  But they are scoping him and drawing blood.  Waiting on results.

I was morose after his pre-race warm up, when he came back seemingly excessively overheated and blowing hard.  The warm up was only 1.5 miles at a 50 clip.  The caretaker did his best to cool him down.  It was hot and muggy and unfortunately he was standing in the afternoon sun for most of the day.

So who knows?
1. He could just be not good enough

2. he could have been physically compromised

3. both can be true

time will tell
