I could be totally wrong ....... didn't Rock come from Burke?  LaDoriane from Takter? and Chevron from Erv Miller?  I could be wrong about all three, sure there's several more examples.   There's an advantage to a horse coming from a quality barn.  Get a horse from a lesser trainer, is he getting trained, right equipment, fed, vet care, etc?  Sure you can turn that horse around but it's going to take a month or two at the minimum.  It's clear AMac has at the very least a professional relationship with Burke.  He sends him horses to train and I know Burke's been in at least one of his video's.  The difference between all the top trainers is the money behind them.  For me the one exception would be Ake.  He trains on sand, totally different style.  That said, might be smart to train a horse coming from his barn.  Would be a huge change for the horse.

I personally don't like this type of acquisition.  Especially on the high end.  You are buying somebody else's "problem" in some cases.  At best it's 50-50 whether it could be successful.  Anthony likes challenges,  I'd prefer it wasn't my money.

For every Looks Like Moni and Locatelli (Tackter trainees), there is Greatest Ending and Oakwood Cowboy IR (Burke).  Maybe even J K Victory (Burke).

I don't think Burke would be my first choice to buy from.  Only Think of Galaxies comes to mind when I think of successful purchases from Burke.  Maybe others.  Don't come to mind.

Let's simplify this.  When Burke paid $200,000 for the horse, he had major stakes in mind.  The guy who paid $61,400 will never (never say never) enter that horse in a stakes race.  Doesn't mean he won't win races or make money with his purchase. Same horse, different perspective.

It's not only possible, but how awesome would it be if the horse became a great champion stringing along consecutive wins primarily in top stakes company, and ultimately  becoming a great stud or blacktype producing mare, and it was prolific enough that it was brought up in almost every interview as this horse made on their success journey - and while Burke who is worth in the 9 figures or so might not see a financial crisis from this, definitely a shot in the arm and of his ego, prowess and infinitesimally diminish some of his legacy, his vets, surgeons, his entire Brigade lol - as the one that he / they were faithless in and let go.

I haven't heard an ex-owner Burke - Seabiscuit, underdog type story yet, it's long overdue, so have at it and very good luck and wishing it happen to you and your team on the first or whatever shot it takes to make it happen!
