Watching Greene Co. Fair on OHHA and Scioto simultaneously from the basement in Frankfort.  Life is good.  Just wanted to say that Roger Huston is calling the fair races tonight and doing a good job.  I don’t think that I am being overly judgmental in saying that he can still be very good in this role.  4 to 6 horse fields going in 2:00 is a good landing spot for him.  The voice is still magical.  A full field going 10 seconds faster, not so much. Still want to see him graciously turn his Delaware duties over to one of the younger guys.  He could be the back-up and call some on the undercard and offer some between races commentary.  Seems like a win/win,

Is it my imagination, or is Jason Settlemoir trying TOO hard to be Roger Huston? Makes me miss the days when Sam McKee and Steve Cross were the backups at Delaware.

Well, Jason has been under Roger’s wing since he was 12 years old.  I think that it is a natural act that he is going to emulate his mentor.  Whether we may prefer others or not, I don’t believe it is a forced or contrived attempt.
