I initially didn't have a share of Perfect Instead but picked one up on the cheap later on. She certainly looked good and showed another gear when Anthony kicked the plugs. She may have changed my mind about going to Delaware next week and if Bella also goes that may cement things for me.
Ed, I'm having the same thoughts about Saint Serra that you're having about Sweet and Steady.
I did go to Upper Sandusky but didn't stay, maybe it's old age but my patience ran thin after 45 minutes of trying to find a parking spot, so I just headed down to Scioto.

So I guess The Stable has a new Ohio direction. Buying more Ohio horses at Lexington and less horses this Friday at the Ohio sale. Interesting strategy. Do you think they buy nicer horses this Friday? Or will the prices range from 12k-100k or so? What number will the lowest In Range yearling go for? Might be a good contest. I'll take 47k. I'll take 5 and under, depending on the price. I got two on my list, a pacer and a trotter, which everyone probably has on their list. No In Range on my list tho. I suspect those will be overpaid. Cheapest In Range is probably gonna be around $15,000.
I agree with Anthony tho, he bought way to many Ohio breds (And Pennsylvania breds) so the stable carried the cost of that. Even now a few 2yo's are still for sale.

I sure most of you know the story of Cloud Rider last year, I had some shares of him and absolutely loved his name. So when I was going through the catalogue and saw the name Cloud Dancing (hip 181) how could I not be interested. She's a Rockyroad Hanover with a very nice pedigree. Some may shy away from her for being by a first crop sire, she's also later in the sale so maybe she could be had at a good price. I'm just looking at the PEI yearling(s) this year. I've got more horses than usual come sale season this year, but it's a good group so I'll take the trade off of limited space for yearlings.

Way smarter people than me are predicting a down year relative to the robust years of the past few. Overhead prices, labor shortages, and outside the industry woes are some of factors maybe in play.

Thanks! We don't have a lot of entries coming up. Monday is our best bet when Memento Mori drops to a claiming level below his purchase price. I have a feeling he will be exiting, so a win would be imperative. The purse plus the claiming price would exceed his purchase price. Mori has been berry berry good for us, though. Very good!
