Scioto July 4th

Attendance seemed way down from the last two Next Gen, perhaps weather plus being on the actual 4th of July.

Track must be cutting expenses.  No designated driver to the winner's circle. A four wheeler is provided, but the winning connections drive the vehicle. Seems  a bit risky with all that is going on. Horses warming up, trucks doing maintenance, etc.

The saddle cloths also seem to be different shades than what I am used to. 3, 6, and 8 seem to be different shades of brown. I could not tell if the 2's just needed a good cleaning or Scioto has gone with a new shade of white I have never seen before.

Only one food truck and it was not getting much business.

Sadly, the Wiener dog races the week prior drew more people. https://youtu.be/ozhRqkkp5HE?is=VOQdtEP3LGvgrLST

Maybe one more year at this rate.

The saddle pad covers at Scioto Downs are horrible.  They put so much effort into their "TV" show, but they can't show a good, clear race.  Shameful.  And sad.

I spent 3 days this week watching saddle pads and practicing charting races and/or monitoring races as if I had the duties of a judge.  Yes, the Scioto #3 is some weird version of white that you would only find in a Sherwin Williams paint store.  Such a simple fix.
