Page 1 of 3Next

The New York Connection (Rich, Steve, and I; sadly, Carmelo can't come this year) has made their non-refundable plane reservations.

We will be arriving in Columbus at 7:00 AM on Sunday, September 14th, and we will be returning late on Thursday night, September 18th.

Be there!

The countdown has officially commenced!

Sitting 5 minutes from the Jug home in Delaware.  Will be off to Urbana in a bit.  Hopefully, I can report on some angles and provide some pictures that captures the essence of the sport that I fell in love with 50 years ago.  Can’t wait for September and October when the Grand Circuit action heats up in Ohio and Kentucky.

Thanks, Norm!  Looking forward to seeing you in the Winner's Circle!!

@bgtolex25 - Nice looking crowd.  They're showing lots of crowd shots.  What color is your shirt?  Hat?

Great crowd.   I was moving around a lot and talking to as many fair and horse people as I could.  Just love the atmosphere.  Will post some pictures tomorrow when my IT person clocks in.

No winners circle so I had to visit him in the barn.  He was indifferent to the experience, but I had a great time.  Hanging out on the backstretch in the barn area was the best.  The raceways are missing out not having at least a fraction of the type of interaction between the public and participants.

Listening to the starter gruffly, but simultaneously playing to the backstretch crowd, order the drivers around in the minute before calling them to the gate is worth the price of admission.  He had the backstretch in stitches.

When I was searching for TheStable horses just prior to the first race, driver Luke Hanners politely asked to glance at my program.  I walked about 30 yards with him and his horse and crew while he did a last second assessment of the field.

They strategically scheduled this BSS leg on a night Scioto was dark, so most of the top drivers were there and just hanging out with family, friends and acquaintances in between drives.

Highly recommend the experience if you love the sport.

Thanks for sharing.  I 💖 the Fair experience.

Looking like my Jug Week will be Sunday-Tuesday this year. Looking forward to seeing everyone. I will be on the apron midstretch. Lexington after that starting to look shaky. My nephew is getting married and probably going on a golf trip. We will see.

We will see you there. Likely in the grandstand near the finish line.  We are staying through Thursday.
