Quote from Purple Aura on August 28, 2025, 4:45 PMBear I'm not saying you're the only one who calls him out here. We've all had issues with trips before. And we will again going forward. He drove Danny perfectly. And deserves credit for it. As far as Emerald Tom goes, Anthony says he in the middle of a growth spurt and they have to look at him differently now. Rigging, being shod, everything. I'm giving him a pass for now. Jug Week we will see what he has. If he's empty and has nothing you are probably right he should have been turned out. If he's better, lets hope he's a price and wins the Buckeye. You going to be there Bear?Â

I really appreciate that you are willing to respectfully offer your opinions.  2 year olds are unique.  They arenât physically developed yetâŠthink High School athletesâŠplay essentially the same game as the collegiate and professionals.  But they are limited in the # of games, pitches thrown per week, and hours of practices, etc.  So it is hard for me to criticize driving tactics, but I am fairly critical of training methods and race load management. Â
My biggest gripe YTD is the pushing through some acknowledged illness in July and keeping them racing. Â Then, the major slump happens and suddenly âno 2 year olds races unless they are 100%â. Â Ed knows that I have other concerns but the above can be documented by rewatching the videos. Â The rest is speculation and 2nd hand observations. Â
Biggest takeaway for me is that the 2 year olds need to be treated very cautiously and only push them as far as their developing bodies and minds will tolerate. Â If they are sore due to growing pains or compromised due to illness, then the field is the best place for them. Â I have typed essentially this same message a dozen times in the last 4-6 weeks, but always deleted before sending. Â Apologies if my opinions offend anyone. Â

Quote from Bearcookie56 on August 28, 2025, 6:04 PM@bgtolex25, yours is an excellent point , Iâm one of those dreamers that think horses shouldnât race until they are three, stronger and more mature ,better performances..but we all know ,we wouldnât have the patience to wait that long, but like you said ,these two year olds are still babies!

Quote from Purple Aura on September 24, 2025, 9:39 PMI saw that. Nearly bought one. Four shares left when I considered it. How much is the Buckeye Final going for? 50k?

You convinced me. I picked up a share. Pretty much a Freedom Hill for Judy trade. I'll be driving down to Florida, so will miss that weekend. Heading to Dayton for Fri/Sat. Sat is packed with good races.Â
I have not looked at a program yet, but Burke has five in 3 yr old colt pace. Not sure of ownership, possible five horse entry. I assume even if only three and them being the heavy favorites there will be no show wagering. Will there be place wagering?

Quote from Lonnie on September 25, 2025, 12:58 AMI made the same "trade" as you, though we sold two shares of Freedom Hill; we only picked up one share of Judy's Moni. Â
There's just one bargain basement share left of Judy's Moni.
