SKY, 1st place finisher in race 2 on 26 September 2024 at Monticello Raceway, contained
the presence of Ibuprofen. Pursuant to New York State Gaming Rules 4120.4, 4120.5,
Trainer Jim Doherty Jr. is hereby fined the sum of $2,000.00 and suspended for 30 days.
Further, ZIGGY SKY is declared disqualified from said race and all purse earnings shall be

Her action was against the best interest of racing. Ms. Clegg had a hearing with the judges on 11/17/24. She is hereby fined $1000 and suspended for 60 days. The suspension will be reduced to 30 days if not appealed. O.S.R.C.-3769-2-26(A)(10) The fine must be paid by 11/27/24. During her suspension Ms. Clegg is barred from all grounds governed by the OSRC. Any horses that she wants to transfer to another owner or trainer must be approved by the judges. She has 48 hours to appeal this ruling.

Disturbing.  Lonnie, you are good at finding items on the “twitters” (internet).  Is there any other reporting on this incident?  The industry could use a reliable independent voice.  The Cleggs are well known in Ohio, especially on the fair circuit.  They race their 2 & 3 year olds very aggressively, 30-40 starts a year not unusual for their young horses.  One thought for me was that they must be super attentive to the health and condition of each horse to successfully get the results with that high workload.  Or not.

adopted by the OSRC. Mr. Morgan waived his right to a hearing and is hereby fined $500
and Jet Wings is disqualified. As a result of that disqualification all purse money must be

PAINTED LADY for The Meadows` sixth race on December 13, 2023. Blood samples
drawn (post-race) from SWEET PAINTED LADY were tested and found to contain
Pemoline. As the trainer Mr. Simpson is responsible for the positive test. SWEET PAINTED
LADY finished 1st in this race but is now disqualified. Purse money earned ($5,450) by
SWEET PAINTED LADY must be returned within ten days of this ruling. Mr. Simpson is
fined $1,000 (fines are due within ten days of ruling) and has waived his hearing/appeal
rights. Mitigating and aggravating circumstances were considered in determining the
penalty.
