Ok, I'm biased.  I admit it!

Wolverines and buckeyes on the same page in round one. Tomboy Strong ( two shares) and Emerald Tom. Let's see how our perceptions change in a month. Good luck all.

From a purely self-interested standpoint, Emerald Tom & Rose Run Bobbie.

Maybe the best way to decide which horses are at the top of their respective classes is by money. Not by what a owner asks for a over inflated share but what another owner is willing to pay for that share. If we use that as our guide the leaders so far are Emerald Tom someone willing to pay 400.00. The filly leader is drumroll please is Meghans Lucky Day who has a offer of 475.00. Interesting. Sara and Bobbie both have offers of 400.00. Looking forward to Tuesdays drone session mostly because you can tell Anthony thinks they are going to put on a show. On with the show this it    🙂

So we shouldn't use the owners' asking prices that are equivalent to the horses being valued at $1,000,000 - $2,000,000 haha.

I wonder how many sell/buy offers happen a month. I've bought a few. Only once put a horse up for sale, no takers. ( horse ended up selling for more than my asking price, so I think I priced it fairly)

I would suggest using the owners' LOWEST asking price.  I base my stable's valuation on that amount.

Just to throw in my experiences ( 2 whole transactions on the private market), both deals occurred roughly in the middle of the lowest asking price and the highest offer price. I then offered a price in the middle and it was readily accepted.  I did the same on the selling side with a different horse, and it again moved quickly.  The proverbial sweet spot if you will.

Set Four tomorrow three of the fillies face off. Judi's Moni, Aunt Sara and Tomboy Strong. Colts vs fillies tomorrow in two of the other sets. Set One is Emerald Tom vs Bobbie. Last set Fearless Peter vs Meghan.

I was just making the a point on what you could sell for right now. I understand what you're saying Lonnie. Where I disagree is lots of people here are prisoner of the moment. If a horse trains or races really well prices skyrocket. When they skyrocket is creates a bad number in my opinion. Using your method who is the highest price colt and filly? Good luck to all tomorrow.

Agree.  Who knows what any of their ceilings are.   I would like 1 or 2 to get listed on AMac’s principal office list and see if there is a price drop.  Seems Arrowhead Hanover and Gorgeous Package were on the list at this time last year.

This is why I look at the lowest of the offer prices.

And we have seen the prices drop on horses who don't train well that week.  Patience is a virtue on all counts.
