The owners now have to pay for Mark to go there when there are better options
"I'll spend your money like it was yours"Â I guess that's the new motto
Scott Z would be the logical choice given his and Megan Scranâs work with this filly. Â BTW, Megan had a training double at The Red Mile today. Â The Moneyman in the bike for both. Â Glad he was able to recover so quick from his recent spill.
I was pretty miffed when Perfect Thought was pulled out of Megan's barn and still don't buy the reasoning, enough so that I sold my share. I have some thoughts about the situation that I'll keep to myself for right but I think some of my reasoning also holds true for Frolic not racing in the NJSS Silver Finals.

By now I would think everyone's seen the email today from John Evans. This ties directly into my thoughts about Perfect Thought and Frolic, those decisions were not horseracing decisions, they were financial decisions. I've always been open about the fact that I have part ownership of horses outside of The Stable, some of them on the east coast, and my experience shows the fees from trainers out east are higher than the monthly fees The Stable charges clients. So it was just a matter of time before something had to change.
My concern going forward is will financial decisions replace horseracing decisions, lets not forget The Stable makes their money training horses not on purse money. I'm curious to see how training will be handled for a new crop of New Jersey 2 year olds next summer.
At this point I'm not abandoning The Stable but will look closer at my options. I understand this is business and like all businesses The Stable needs to make decisions to stay viable and I certainly don't fault them for that.
