Walter Callahan is the trainer of Control Rocks who raced in the 12 race on 1/15/26 at
Dover Downs. Control Rocks finished first, was post race tested by the DHRC veterinarian.
Sample # E608175 containing blood and urine was sent to Industrial Laboratory,
Oxymorphone was confirmed. Oxymorphone is a class 1 drug and its use is prohibited.
Applicable DHRC rules are 5.3.2/ 5.3.2.2/ 8.3/ Mr. Callahan was offered a split sample test,
Mr. Callahan signed the waiver of the split sample and the waiver of hearing. Taking into
consideration Mr. Callahans record and the heavy mitigating circumstances, the DHRC
board of judges issued Mr. Callahan a $6000.00 fine, a 10 day full suspension starting
2/16/26 through 2/25/26. The purse money of $9000.00 must be returned and redistributed.
Per DHRC rule 10.2.7.6 All monies must be paid within 10 days of this ruling. No horses
trained by Mr. Callahan may be transferred without approval of the presiding judge. Mr.
Callahan may enter horses to race starting 2/26/26 provided the fine and purse money
have been paid.

 

CHISHOLM, BRADLEY W FREEHOLD, NJ YOB 1997

Driver Brad Chisholm is hereby fined the sum of one thousand ($1,000.00) dollars. On the
evening of January 24, 2026 driver Brad Chisholm appeared in the paddock at The
Meadowlands Racetrack in an unfit condition to perform his duties. The fine associated with
this ruling must be received by the New Jersey Racing Commission on or before February
28, 2026. Violation of N.J.A.C. Rule 13:71-7.29 (a) 3 Violation of N.J.A.C. Rule 13:71-18.1

 

FERRELL, DARREN E DELMAR, MD YOB 1972

POSITIVE TEST- POST RACE
Trainer Darren Ferrell was the trainer of record on horse TORRONE HANOVER in the 4th
race on January 22nd, 2026 at Rosecroft Raceway. Post-race analysis of urine sample
#E722470 taken from TORRONE HANOVER identified the presence of Odesmethyltramadol (active metabolite of tramadol). As a result, Mr. Ferrell is fined
$1,500.00 and shall return all purse monies. Additionally, TORRONE HANOVER is
disqualified, finishing first and shall be placed seventh. Mitigating factors were considered
in the determination of this penalty. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of
this issuance, and all fines are due within ten (10) days of the ruling. COMAR:
09.10.03.04.B. Four Multiple Medication Violation (MMV) points assessed.

 

SAUNDERS, BRUCE N HAMILTON, NJ YOB 1944

Bruce Saunders was the programmed trainer of the horse "CAMERA MAN" when he raced
in the eighth race at The Meadowlands Racetrack on September 5, 2025. Following the
race, "CAMERA MAN" was required to submit blood and urine for analysis. A report from
Industrial Laboratories identified the presence of Betamethasone in the blood above the
allowable limit. At Mr. Saunders` request, split sample testing was performed at an
independent laboratory. These testing results did confirm the presence of Betamethasone.
This is in direct violation of the rules and regulations of the New Jersey Racing
Commission. Mr. Saunders appeared at a hearing before The Board of Judges at The
Meadowlands Racetrack on January 22, 2026. As a result, Mr. Saunders is hereby issued a
full suspension of his New Jersey Racing Commission license for a period of fifteen (15)
days and is fined the sum of five hundred ($500.00) dollars. Said suspension shall begin on
February 21, 2026 and run through March 7, 2026 inclusive. During the period of
suspension, Mr. Saunders is denied access to all grounds that are under the jurisdiction of
the New Jersey Racing Commission. Consistent with N.J.A.C. 13:71-23.7 the horse
"CAMERA MAN" is disqualified from sharing in all purse monies earned on September 5,
2025. The fine associated with this ruling must be received by the New Jersey Racing
Commission on or before March 7, 2026. MMV Points incurred 1/2 point Violation of

FAILURE TO OBTAIN PROPER LICENSE
OSRC 3769-2-27-A. Mr. Young performed duties of a groom for #7 Rockin N Talkin in race
7 on 2/8/26 at MVR, without first obtaining a 2026 OSRC License. Mr. Young is fined $200,
the penalty will be reduced to $100 if not appealed, which is due within 10 days of this
ruling. Mr. Young has 48 hours to appeal this decision to the OSRC.

MVR on 2/8/2026 FINED: $500
CONDUCT DETRIMENTAL TO THE BEST INTEREST OF HORSE RACING
OSRC 3769-2-26-A(4,5&10). Mr. Young wrote down a ficticious license number while
signing as a witness in the test barn for #7 Rockin N Talkin in race 7 on 2/8/26 at MVR,
while not being currently licensed. Mr. Young is fined $1000, the penalty will be reduced to
$500 if not appealed, which is due within 10 days of this ruling. Mr. Young has 48 hours to
appeal this decision to the OSRC.

Blood sample #962182 collected at Northfield Park on 12/30/2025 from the horse Oblivion
Express was tested by the Ohio Department of Agriculture ATL and was found to contain
Mepivacaine a class 2 drug. Additionally urine sample #926182 was found to contain 3-
hydroxymepivacaine at a concentration of 131+/-20 nanograms per milliliter of urine. This
exceeds the regulatory threshold of 10 nanograms per milliliter adopted by the OSRC for 3-
hydroxymepivacaine in equine urine. Mr. Deyermand waived his rights to a split sample,
DNA, and a hearing. This is Mr. Deyermand second positive test in the last 365 days. He is
hereby fined $1000 and 60 day full suspension. Oblivion Express is disqualified and as a
result of that disqualification all purse money must be returned for redistribution ($4500.00).
If this ruling is not appealed the penalty will be reduced to a $1000 fine and a 15 day full
suspension and return of purse (with 45 day full suspension stayed pending no positives in
the next 365 days) Aggravating factors were considered in determining this penalty.
O.S.R.C.-3769-18-01-(A)(10,13,15,16) 3769-18-02 3769-17-43.The fine and purse has
been paid. During his suspension Mr. Deyermand is barred from all grounds governed by
the OSRC. Any horses under his care that he wants to transfer to anther owner or trainer
must be approved by the judges in Ohio.

 

GRUBB, TIMOTHY J CARDINGTON, OH YOB 1977

OSRC 3769-18-01-A(1,10,13,15,16), 3769-18-02, 3769-17-43, 3769-17-30. Urine sample
#937511 was tested by the Ohio Department of Agriculture ATL and was found to contain
3-Methoxytyramine, a Class 2 drug, at a concentration level of 17.3 micrograms per milliliter
of urine, which exceeds the Regulatory threshold of 4 micrograms per milliliter of urine that
was adopted by the OSRC. Urine sample #937511 was provided by #6 Cadillac Bayama
who finished 1st in race 4 on 11/8/25 at Dayton Raceway, and was trained by Mr. Grubb.
Mr. Grubb did request a split sample that was confirmed. Mr. Grubb waived his rights to a
hearing. This is Mr. Grubb`s first medication violation in the last 365 days. #6 is disqualified
and placed 8th and the purse earnings of $5500 are ordered to be returned to Dayton
Raceway within 10 days of this ruling, to be redistributed accordingly. Mr. Grubb is fined
$1000 and given a 365 day full suspension. The penalty will be reduced to a $1000 fine and
a 60 day full suspension (2/16/26-4/16/26) with 305 days held in obeyance provided Mr.
Grubb does not have any other Class 1 or 2 penalties during that time period. The $1000
fine is due within 10 days of this ruling. During his suspension, Mr. Grubb is denied the use
and privileges of all the grounds sanctioned by the OSRC. All horses owned and/or trained
by Mr. Grubb may only be transferred by permission of the Judges in Ohio or the OSRC.
Mr. Grubb has 48 hours to appeal this decision to the OSRC.

SHORT, ADAM B XENIA, OH YOB 1987

was tested by the Ohio Department of Agriculture ATL and was found to show a TCO2
concentration of 42.48 millimoles per liter of serum, a Class 3 category, which exceeds the
Regulatory threshold of 37 millimoles per liter of serum that was adopted by the OSRC.
Blood sample #938038 was provided by #6 General Idea, who finished 1st in race 10 on
1/11/26 at MVR, and was trained by Mr. Short. #6 is disqualified and placed 8th. This is Mr.
Short`s first medication violation in the last 365 days. Mr. Short waived his rights to a
hearing. Mr. Short is fined $1000 and given a 30 day full suspension, the penalty will be
reduced to a $1000 fine and a 15 day full suspension (02/23/26-03/09/26) if not appealed,
and the purse earnings of $8750 are ordered to be returned to MVR to be redistributed
accordingly. The purse earnings and the fine are to be paid within 10 days of this ruling.
During his suspension Mr. Short is denied the use and privileges of all the grounds
sanctioned by the OSRC. Horses owned and/or trained by Mr. Short may only be
transferred by permission of the Judges in Ohio or the OSRC. Mr. Short has 48 hours to
appeal this decision to the OSRC.

MEDICATION PROCEDURE VIOLATION
71 IAC 5-3-2(a)(2); 5-3-2(3)(b); 8-1-1.5(3)(b); 8-1-2(a) Trainer Amy Husted was found to be
in violation of the 24-hour administration rule at Hoosier Park on February 19, 2026. Prior to
race 5 the horse PEACE STAR was observed in the Hoosier Park paddock by a licensed
racing official with a foreign substance coming out of his mouth. For this violation Ms.
Husted is fined $1000.00 which is due within seven days of this ruling. Ms. Husted waived
her right to a hearing and accepted the penalty. PEACE STAR was scratched by the
judges.

Status as of 2/25/2026 - Stay - The New Jersey Racing Commission ("Commission")
is in receipt of a notice of appeal and request for a stay from trainer Bruce Saunders.
By Ruling No. 26MDH6, dated February 3, 2026, trainer Bruce Saunders was issued a
15 day suspension, $500 fine, disqualification of purse and 1/2 Multiple Medication
Violation ("MMV") point by the Board of Judges at Meadowlands Racetrack for
violation of N.J.A.C. 13:71-23.1(a)(b)14, N.J.A.C. 13:71-23.6(a)(b)(c)(d), N.J.A.C. 13:71-
23.7(a)(b)(c)(d) and N.J.A.C. 13:71-23.8(g)1 in connection with a positive test result in
the horse "Camera Man" when it competed in the 8th race at Meadowlands Racetrack
on September 5, 2025. The Acting Executive Director, having considered the request
for a stay, hereby grants a stay of the penalties pending a final determination by the
Racing Commission. This matter will be transmitted to the Office of Administrative
Law for a de novo hearing. Related ruling: 26MDH6, dated February 3, 2026

Trainer Darrick Guertin was the trainer of record on horse SEW MUCH SWAG in the 6th
race on November 17th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. Post-race analysis of blood sample
#E722328 taken from SEW MUCH SWAG identified the presence of flunixin at a
concentration of 9.37 ng/mL ± 0.57 ng/mL. The regulatory threshold for this controlled
therapeutic medication is 5 ng/mL. This was identified by Industrial Laboratories, the
primary laboratory of the Maryland Racing Commission. At Mr. Guertin’s request, a split
sample was sent to University of California, Davis for confirmatory analysis. University of
California, Davis also identified flunixin in the sample at a concentration of 8.6 ng/mL ± 0.7
ng/mL, which still exceeds the regulatory threshold of 5 ng/mL. As a result, Mr. Guertin
shall be fined $500.00 and must return all purse monies. Additionally, SEW MUCH SWAG
is disqualified, finishing 1st and placed 8th; and there shall be a purse redistribution. All
purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within
ten (10) days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.03.04.B. 1/2 Multiple Medication Violation
(MMV) point assessed.

RcR on 11/24/2025 HORSE DISQUALIFIED - PLACED 9, PURSE
REDISTRIBUTION
POSITIVE TEST- POST RACE
Trainer Darrick Guertin was the trainer of record on horse SEW MUCH SWAG in the 9th
race on November 24th, 2025 at Rosecroft Raceway. Post-race analysis of blood sample
#E722359 taken from SEW MUCH SWAG identified the presence of flunixin at a
concentration of 11.2 ng/mL ± 0.58 ng/mL. The regulatory threshold for this controlled
therapeutic medication is 5 ng/mL. This was identified by Industrial Laboratories, the
primary laboratory of the Maryland Racing Commission. At Mr. Guertin’s request, a split
sample was sent to University of California, Davis for confirmatory analysis. University of
California, Davis also identified flunixin in the sample at a concentration of 9.8 ng/mL ± 0.7
ng/mL, which exceeds the regulatory threshold of 5 ng/mL. As a result, Mr. Guertin shall
return all purse monies. Additionally, SEW MUCH SWAG is disqualified, finishing 1st and
placed 9th; and there shall be a purse redistribution. All purse monies must be returned
within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within ten (10) days of the ruling.

SEARLE, STEVEN J GRANT PARK, IL YOB 1959

OSRC 3769-18-01-A(4b,15,16), 3769-18-02, 3769-17-43. Blood sample #938174 was
tested by the Ohio Department of Agriculture ATL and was found to contain Furosemide at
a concentration level of 129.4 nanograms per milliliter of plasma, which exceeds the
Regulatory threshold of 100 nanograms per milliliter of plasma adopted by the OSRC.
Blood sample #938174 was provided by #4 Lous Avalon, who finished 1st in race 3 on
1/22/26 at MVR, and was trained by Mr. Searle. Mr. Searle waived his rights to a hearing,
split sample and DNA. This is Mr. Searles`s first medication violation in the last 365 days.
Mr. Searle is fined $1000, the penalty will be reduced to $500 if not appealed, which is due
within 10 days of this ruling. #4 is disqualified and placed 9th, and the purse earnings of
$6500 is ordered to be returned to MVR to be redistributed accordingly, within 10 days of
this ruling. Mr. Searle has 48 hours to appeal this decision to the OSRC.
