I was hoping/expecting you to be in one of those races.

Yeah, I deserve to be called out.  Evenings at The Red Mile are the best.  It was a beautiful night, and I really had no need to leave early other than I was hungry and 99% of the time won’t eat out

Let me share an interesting interaction that I had on the way out.  I stopped on the apron to take some pictures with my I-pad.  A patron sitting in his scooter was parked right next to the track.  He watched me for a few minutes and then asked if my “scanner” was communicating with the horses’ microchips, controlling them to speed up or slow down on my command.  He said that he has a similar device that affects racing greyhounds.  Anyway, I showed him the pictures that I had just taken and managed to turn the conversation toward a more positive recounting of my appreciation of Standardbreds.

We ended up having a good 15 minute interaction.  Makes one wonder what else we can learn from talking with the attendees.  This gentleman stated that he attends every Sunday night and Wednesday afternoon throughout the meet.  He does a $2 box on the numbers 2,3, and 5 every race at the beginning of the card and just sits back and watches.  He hit on races 8 and 13 that night and claims to roughly break even overall.  His entertainment.

Wun them over one person at a time. Well done!
